ABCs of Course Design - Short Course for Grads, Post-docs and the Caltech Community

Tuesday, November 15, 2016
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: Center for Student Services 360 (Workshop Space)

Are you hoping to be the instructor of record for a course or interested in course design? Dr. Jennifer Weaver, Assistant Director of the CTLO, will be teaching a 3-session short course primarily aimed at those who have not taught a course before (including graduate students, post-docs, faculty and staff). We'll walk through the process of "backwards design" from start to finish, including designing learning outcomes, incorporating active learning activities, developing assessments, and building the overall class structure. By the end of this short course, you will have the main tools you need to design a great class of your own!

This course will run for three consecutive Tuesdays on November 15th, 22nd and 29th.

Attendance is mandatory for all three sessions. Please RSVP here:
