Leading by Example: Creating Inclusive Classrooms Workshop
Please join the CTLO and CCD in our workshop entitled 'Leading by Example: Creating Inclusive Classrooms'. This workshop is designed to introduce you to the key concepts of stereotype threat, unconscious bias and classroom climate. Building on these foundational concepts, we will identify pedagogical practices for creating inclusive classrooms.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define, understand, and mitigate the presence of stereotype threat and unconscious bias in the classroom;
- Identify positive changes that one can make to their syllabus, student interactions and classroom climate that will demonstrate their appreciation of what every student has to contribute; and
- Implement creative solutions to common challenges in creating equitable and inclusive classrooms.
All students, post-docs, staff and faculty are welcome!
