Weight Watchers At Work Program Back By Popular Demand
The Caltech HR Total Rewards team is happy to bring the Weight Watchers At Work Program to campus as part of the ongoing Science of Well-Being series. Start losing weight and live healthier with Weight Watchers! With the Weight Watchers Monthly Pass Program, you will have access to meetings at Caltech and in your community, plus free eTools, the internet weight-loss companion. The discounted Monthly Pass Program rate is $39.95. Weekly meetings will be held on Wednesdays, beginning October 10th from noon to 1 p.m. in the Kerckhoff building (room 024). This year we're going green! Instead of receiving a paper enrollment kit, you'll find all your benefits information on our new Benefits Website, which goes live October 8. (Staff who don't have computer access at Caltech will still receive paper enrollment kits.) The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) is open to Caltech faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students who have dependent children age ten (10) or under. The CCAP application period for 2013 awards is running now through October 1, 2012. Details & the online application are available at http://cit.hr.caltech.edu/ccap_program.htm. Those who do not have on-line access may use the computer kiosks in HR at 399 S. Holliston to access the information.
The event will be held on Friday, October 26. Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Beckman Mall. No tickets are required for the dinner. The animated film Madagascar 3 will be screened at 6 p.m. in Beckman Auditorium. Wristbands are required for admission to the movie. Only children of our low-income families are registered for this event.
Being ready for the important 1st day of school, gives a child a good start and maybe a better year. Funds are needed to buy uniforms, backpacks, etc. (estimated @ only $60 per child). "

Caltech's annual Staff Service Awards ceremony will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Beckman Auditorium
on Thursday, June 7. Caltech will honor over 200 staff members with service ranging from 10 to 45 years. Additionally, the winner of the sixth annual Thomas W. Schmitt Staff Prize will be named. A reception in the Beckman Institute courtyard will follow the ceremony. All members of the Caltech community are encouraged to attend.
Parking is available in the California Boulevard underground parking structure.
Making an appointment is easy. Go to https://www.givelife.org and enter your email address and date of birth. If you have used the online appointment system before, your information will display for your approval. If you have not used our online system before, you can fill out the form with some basic information that the blood bank will need. Then click the "Continue and View Blood Drives" button. You will see our blood drive. If you went to the site without using the link and don't see our drive enter "caltech" where it asks for the sponsor code. Click the circle to the left of the day you would like your appointment. On the next page, pick a time. Then you will receive an email confirming your appointment.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting its annual Nike Reuse-a-Shoe Drive, one of Nike's longest-running environmental and community programs, where worn-out athletic shoes are collected, processed, and recycled into material for sports surfaces like basketball courts, tennis courts, athletic fields, running tracks, and more.
Drop off your worn-out athletic shoes (cleats and spikes excluded) in bins on campus at Brown Gym, Braun Athletic Center, Keith Spalding Building, and Chandler Cafe. Donation bins are clearly marked with Nike Reuse-a-Shoe Flyers. Bring as many pairs of worn-out athletic shoes as possible and deposit them in any of the bins.
The deadline to drop off shoes is May 18.
Caltech's annual Take Our Children to Work Day will take place on Thursday, April 26. This event is an opportunity for Caltech personnel to introduce their children to the exciting things that go on at Caltech and to interest them in science, research, and possibilities for the future.
