National Alliance on Mental Illness - 5K Walk

Every journey begins with that first step. In 2013, tens of thousands of concerned citizens in more than 84 communities across the nation will join NAMI and walk together to raise money and awareness about our country's need for a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness. RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

The Bloodmobile will be on campus, Monday, September 23, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will be located next to the Winnett quad. The Red Cross Blood Drive will also be held in the Winnett Lounge (above the Bookstore Bldg. #51 on the campus map) on Tuesday, September 24, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Flu Shot Clinic

 

Flu Shot Clinic  October 22nd  from 8:30am to 3pm

Tuesday October 22nd  from 8:30a-3pm in the Dabney Hall and Gardens. 

The flu shot will contain both the Seasonal and H1N1 vaccination.  You must show your Caltech ID to receive a shot.  If you are pregnant or have a preexisting medical condition, please bring written consent from your doctor to receive the flu shot.  It is anticipated that enough shots have been ordered so you can come any time before 3pm to get your shot.

Meet representative from our benefits carriers:

TIAA-CREF, Kaiser Permanente, Anthem, UniAccount, Vision Service Plan (VSP), Safeguard, Delta Dental, MetLife, Aetna Student Health and the Child Education Center (CEC).

 

Members from the Caltech Benefits Office will be there to answer questions regarding your Annual Enrollment.

 

And of course there will be giveaways and raffle prizes!

As a part of this partnership, Human Resources has invited the school district's leadership to come out and meet our Caltech community. The Pasadena Education Network will also be in attendance.

FIRST RESPONDERS’ COURSE

FIRST RESPONDERS' Course:  Specifically designed for people responsible for providing emergency First Aid care for the sick and injured.  Covers the full range of First Aid and CPR skills. Excellent training for law enforcement professionals, lifeguards, firefighters, security, teachers, and others who are responsible for the safety of others. 

Meets Department of Transportation standards for emergency response training.  Training will be 15 sessions – Mon-Wed-Fri – 8:00am-Noon – 7/29-thru 8/30.  Brown Gym Classroom.  Registration required.  For registration and additional information, please contact Mark Stapf at ext. 6277 or mstapf@caltech.edu.

FOOTHILL UNITY CENTER "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" DRIVE

*FOOTHILL UNITY CENTER "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" DRIVE The Caltech community is participating in a drive in support of the Foothill Unity Center to provide back-to-school supplies for children of qualified families. Drop-off boxes are in Human Resources & Keith Spalding lobbies. Donations are accepted from July 8th thru July 30th. Suggested  items are: New backpacks,24ct crayons, single spiral notebooks, glue sticks, mechanical pencils, pencil sharpeners, 3 ring binders, filler paper(college & wide ruled), calculators(regular & Scientific), 12' ruler, blue & black ball point pens.  Please deposit your items in the drop-off boxes Mon-Fri from 7:30am -5:00 p.m. If you have questions or need more item suggestions, contact Stephanie Hancock at 626-395-2071 or shancock@caltech.edu.
