Red Cross Blood Drive

The Red Cross Blood Drive will also be held Monday, March 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, March 4 from noon to 6:00pm. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be parked by Winnett Quad.

HR Announces Series of Benefits Workshops

The Science of Benefits Workshop Series brings experts to campus for focused presentations. Be sure to attend this season's workshops and look for free give-aways at every event!

Off the Clock: Art on Your Own Time

This year marks the ninth annual exhibition featuring artwork created by our talented co-workers. Their best offerings will be on display including photography, paintings, ceramics and pottery, knitting and needlework, quilts, and much more.

The exhibit will be held February 4, 5, and 6 in Dabney Lounge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The awards will be announced at a reception held on Thursday, February 6 at 3 p.m.

In conjunction with the art exhibit, on Friday, February 7 at noon there will be a musical  performance by Dr. Julia Greer, Professor of Materials Science and Mechanics; Monica Kohler, Senior Research Fellow in Mechanical and Civil Engineering; Lecturer in Mechanical and Civil Engineering; Victor Tsai, Assistant Professor of Geophysics; Megan Newcombe, Grad Student in Geological and Planetary Sciences.

Please visit the exhibit throughout the week and bring your family and co-workers to enjoy the reception and musical performance. There is no charge for any of the events and you are encouraged to come and enjoy the art as many times as you like!

Off the Clock: Art On Your Own Time

This is the 9th annual exhibition featuring artwork by members of Caltech! Come see works created by your colleagues, and vote for your favorite items on display. The display will include examples of the many talents and hobbies of your co-workers, including photography, drawings, paintings, watercolors, ceramics/pottery, yarnwork/needlework, quilts, jewelry, woodwork/metalwork, audio/video and more.

Whatever your talent, we hope you will share it! If you would like to submit your work for the display, please submit a registration form (PDF). The  deadline to register is Tuesday, January 28th!

There will be a reception on Thursday, February 6, at 3:00 p.m. in Dabney Garden. The Caltech Art Committee Awards and People's Choice Awards will be announced. Please join us to recognize all of the participants. Light refreshments will be served.

Human Resources is sponsoring its annual Adopt an Angel Program, which provides holiday gifts for children of poverty-level families from the San Gabriel Valley area.

To adopt an Angel, go to the Human Resources office between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to pick up a decorated paper angel bearing the name of a needy child, along with his or her special wish list, age, clothing size, and interests. Then leave an unwrapped gift for your Angel, with his or her name attached, in the Human Resources office by Friday, December 6.

The Angel Program is affiliated with the Foothill Unity Center, a nonprofit organization that provides critical support in the form of food, clothing, motel vouchers, referrals, and advocacy for people in crisis who reside in Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Monrovia, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Bradbury, Baldwin Park, Irwindale and Azusa.

United Way Bake Sale

Caltech's United Way Campaign is in full swing! There will be a Bake Sale on Tuesday, November 19th from 10:30am to 1:30pm.

Contributions from this event will go directly to the United Way to raise awareness of the homeless crisis we are facing, and how the United Way is involved.

Please come and purchase something yummy!

United Way Campaign 2014

Caltech's 2014 United Way Campaign is running from October 25 through November 25. You can pledge online by going to and clicking on  United Way.

You can designate the agencies you would like to donate to and you can elect to have payroll deductions or to send a one-time check.

During this campaign period, your donations to the Caltech Y, The Children's Center at Caltech (CCC), and the Child Educational Center (CEC) at JPL will be matched by the Institute.

The Huntington Hospital is holding a Blood Drive in their Bloodmobile in the Winnett Quad on campus (by the Winnett Center - Bldg. 51) on Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13 from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Donors will receive $5 Coupons for Ernie's Truck!
