This is the 9th annual exhibition featuring artwork by members of Caltech! Come see works created by your colleagues, and vote for your favorite items on display. The display will include examples of the many talents and hobbies of your co-workers, including photography, drawings, paintings, watercolors, ceramics/pottery, yarnwork/needlework, quilts, jewelry, woodwork/metalwork, audio/video and more.
Whatever your talent, we hope you will share it! If you would like to submit your work for the display, please submit a registration form (PDF). The deadline to register is Tuesday, January 28th!
There will be a reception on Thursday, February 6, at 3:00 p.m. in Dabney Garden. The Caltech Art Committee Awards and People's Choice Awards will be announced. Please join us to recognize all of the participants. Light refreshments will be served.
In conjunction with the exhibit, there will also be a musical performance in Dabney Lounge on Friday, February 7th at noon with a trio of musicians led by Dr. Julia Greer, Professor of Materials Science and Mechanics,
Please visit the exhibit throughout the week and bring your family and co-workers to enjoy the reception and musical performance. There is no charge for the events and we encourage you to come and enjoy the art as many times as you like!

Human Resources is sponsoring its annual Adopt an Angel Program, which provides holiday gifts for children of poverty-level families from the San Gabriel Valley area.
To adopt an Angel, go to the Human Resources office between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to pick up a decorated paper angel bearing the name of a needy child, along with his or her special wish list, age, clothing size, and interests. Then leave an unwrapped gift for your Angel, with his or her name attached, in the Human Resources office by Friday, December 6.
The Angel Program is affiliated with the Foothill Unity Center, a nonprofit organization that provides critical support in the form of food, clothing, motel vouchers, referrals, and advocacy for people in crisis who reside in Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Monrovia, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Bradbury, Baldwin Park, Irwindale and Azusa.

Caltech's United Way Campaign is in full swing! There will be a Bake Sale on Tuesday, November 19th from 10:30am to 1:30pm.
Contributions from this event will go directly to the United Way to raise awareness of the homeless crisis we are facing, and how the United Way is involved.

Caltech's 2014 United Way Campaign is running from October 25 through November 25. You can pledge online by going to www.access.caltech.edu
and clicking on United Way.
You can designate the agencies you would like to donate to and you can elect to have payroll deductions or to send a one-time check.
During this campaign period, your donations to the Caltech Y, The Children's Center at Caltech (CCC), and the Child Educational Center (CEC) at JPL will be matched by the Institute.

Huntington Hospital Blood Drive
The Huntington Hospital is holding a Blood Drive in their Bloodmobile in the Winnett Quad on campus (by the Winnett Center - Bldg. 51) on Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13 from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Donors will receive $5 Coupons for Ernie's Truck!

Starting October 30, 2013, walk in hours for a flu shot will be Monday to Friday from 8:30– 10:00 a.m., and 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

National Alliance on Mental Illness - 5K Walk
NAMIWalks – Saturday, October 5

In 2013, tens of thousands of concerned citizens in more than 84 communities across the nation will join NAMI and walk together to raise money and awareness about our country's need for a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness. The Bloodmobile will be on campus, Monday, September 23, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It will be located next to the Winnett quad. The Red Cross Blood Drive will also be held in the Winnett Lounge (above the Bookstore Bldg. #51 on the campus map) on Tuesday, September 24, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Flu Shot Clinic October 22nd from 8:30am to 3pm
Tuesday October 22nd from 8:30a-3pm in the Dabney Hall and Gardens.
The flu shot will contain both the Seasonal and H1N1 vaccination. You must show your Caltech ID to receive a shot. If you are pregnant or have a preexisting medical condition, please bring written consent from your doctor to receive the flu shot. It is anticipated that enough shots have been ordered so you can come any time before 3pm to get your shot.
