Orientation
Hello and welcome to the California Institute of Technology Orientation website! Graduate Orientation will take place on September 20-22, 2021, and will consist of both prerecorded sessions, posted online in early September for asynchronous viewing, as well as live, synchronous events that are presented via Zoom. Our hope is that you will find many opportunities to learn about Caltech and engage with your incoming class through the various social events planned.
Under the "Orientation Schedule" tab, you will find the schedule of all planned events. Live events, such as the discussions with the Caltech Center for Inclusion and Diversity, the office of Equity and Title IX, and the Faculty Panel, require participation. However, these events will also be recorded and made available for later viewing.
The scheduled "Breakout Groups" during lunch will give you an opportunity to meet with small groups of your peers and upperclassmen. Each Breakout Group will cover a variety of topics of interest to incoming students.
The "Orientation Modules" tab will bring you to a playlist of required educational videos. Please plan to view each video by the end of Orientation Week. Each of these videos will introduce you to a resource on campus, all with valuable information that will help you during your time at Caltech.
Again, welcome to Caltech! The Graduate Studies Office stands ready to support you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at gradofc@caltech.edu with questions about orientation or your graduate studies in general.
